Not all speakers are suited to this role, as it requires slightly different and additional skills compared to a regular speaker's presentation ability. As emcee you need to be creative and flexible enough to deal with any unexpected changes, hiccups or surprises that arise, even in the best-organised events. You will need the ability to think on the run and be able to turn a negative situation into a positive.
